Experience a party as big as the Lone Star State at Texas Forever Fest! Sponsored by H-E-B, this annual festival celebrates the food, art, music, and people of Texas.

There are plenty of activities and cultural experiences waiting for you at Texas Forever Fest. Located in the heart of Downtown Plano’s Arts District, an estimated 20,000 people visited the festival on its first day. The community spirit is sure to come alive when Texans gather together.

About Texas Forever Fest

Organized by the city of Plano’s Arts & Events committee, the festival aims to celebrate everything that makes Texas so special. Admission is free, and the whole family is welcome to spend the day at Texas Forever Fest.

Featuring live music and Western entertainment, activities for the community, and plenty of Texas vendors, the festival is sure to be a day full of fun and good food.

Where Is Texas Forever Fest Happening?

The first Texas Forever Fest took place in Downtown Plano at Haggard Park. The park itself is a beautiful location filled with trees, ponds, and a gazebo. There are also plenty of grassy areas and a playground so the kids can run around for hours.

Being nestled in Downtown Plano, Haggard Park is at the heart of the city’s cultural space. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

The Interurban Railway Museum is located within the park itself. The exact address for Haggard Park is 901 East 15th Street.

The Layout of Texas Forever Fest

In the site map for Texas Forever Fest 2022, most of the vendors were located along the park trail that surrounds the gazebo.

There were two stages: the main stage and the community stage. The main stage was located near the Interurban Railway Museum, while the community stage was between the playground and the ArtCentre of Plano building.

Getting to Texas Forever Fest and Downtown Plano

Traveling to and around Downtown Plano won’t be difficult as it’s accessible through many means of transportation. You can take a train or drive down yourself, then enjoy the city by walking around.

On Foot

It’s easy to get to places in Downtown Plano because most shops and restaurants, as well as the park, are within walking distance.

You’ll have to leave your car outside Haggard Park and explore the festival on foot. The park has many walking trails for you to follow, as well as seating areas for when you need to rest your feet.

Public Transportation

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) offers bus and train services all over North Texas, including Plano. In fact, there’s a DART Station right next to Haggard Park, making it easier for you to get to the next Texas Forever Fest.

The Red Line goes directly to the Downtown Plano Station every day of the week, while the Orange Line only goes there during peak weekday hours.

You can also take the DART bus routes within Plano. You may find their updated schedule on DART’s official website.

Driving

What to Do at Texas Forever Fest

There are plenty of activities for festivalgoers of all ages to enjoy. If you’re feeling hungry, check out the best dishes Plano has to offer by locating the food trucks. There’s also live music and entertainment throughout the day.

Live Music

Festivalgoers enjoyed live performances by musicians such as Roger Creager, Walt Wilkins, George Dunham with Pat Green, Hayden Haddock, Tejas Brothers, and Texas Flood at the 2022 Texas Forever Fest.

H-E-B Rock Wall

The festival’s main sponsor, H-E-B, had set up a rock wall for visitors to challenge themselves. Do you have what it takes to get to the top?

Mechanical Bull Rides and Calf Roping

Festivalgoers can bring out their inner cowboy by challenging the mechanical bull and seeing how long they can hold on. There was also some calf roping as well as a trick roping show by Joe Hub Baker.

There are also plenty of other fair games and an entire zone for kids to play in, so feel free to bring the whole family along to the next festival!

Spirits of Texas Tasting

Adults aged 21 and up participated in a beer and spirits tasting event sponsored by Liquid Courage Spirits and More in the 2022 Texas Forever Fest. The event took place in the historic Saigling House, located on the edge of Haggard Park.

Visitors could get the Sunrise Samples (served from 11 am to 2:30 pm), the Sunset Samples (served from 2:30 pm to 6 pm), or the Sunrise to Sunset All-Day Pass to have a taste of all available drinks.

Yellow Rose Project

Festivalgoers nurtured their inner artist during the 2022 iteration of the Texas Forever Fest by participating in this interactive art installation.

With miles of yellow yarn, they took part in weaving their story with the rest of the community.

  • The Plano Rotary Club’s BBQ Cook-Off – A taste of Texas with authentic, delicious, slow-cooked meat.
  • Sonoran Queen – They serve Mexican-style hotdogs that are brimming with toppings.
